HISTORY 14th January 2010
Hello and thank you for visiting our history section. Please allow us to tell you about our organisation.
Hearts to Africa is a registered charity. The main objective of the charity is to assist in relieving poverty in Africa by distributing donated items to people in need.
We are a unique charitable organisation working to make a difference to the lives of African people, by offering a practical and educational function. The uniqueness of our charity stems from the fact that members of the charity volunteer their time to personally collect and deliver donated gifts directly to people in need every year.
Each year volunteers collect, sort and pack donated gifts, such as clothes, shoes, computers, books, toys, building and agricultural tools, the generosity of the general public means that we have always met our objective.
We have previously travelled to The Gambia, Uganda, Sierra Leone, DR Congo, Senegal, Jamaica and Thailand, where we have given gifts and financial support to thousands of people; in their homes, villages, schools, medical centres, libraries, nurseries, hospitals and on the street.
To date we have received awards from many different organisations including more than four Ambassador for Peace Awards from The United Nations.
