Hearts To Africa Charity Objective
To relieve poverty by the provision and distribution of donated clothing and other goods to persons in need in Africa.
Main achievements All HTA oversea trips have been very successful and we will continue to expand our work.
We have been continually trying to expand our networking with other charities and the public sector. Although progress has been very slow in this area.
We will be reviewing all our policies for the future, to include continual increase in fund raising and donations as this has been in slow decline.
An increase in membership should assist in providing a wider platform to project HTA.
Schools and Libraries Donations in the form of stationery, toys, books and other learning material have been donated to schools and libraries on each of our trips to date.
In order to identify further schools in need and expand the number of schools benefiting from our work, links have been established with the Education Minister.
Villages The villages in the Gambia are experiencing poverty not starvation. Therefore, the distributions of gifts to villages visited to date have assisted many families within their compounds.
Once further schools have been identified we can then assist more villages in these localities.
Hospitals and Clinics/Health Centres The availability of basic necessities such as bandages, syringes, plasters etc are in short supply. The volume of medical aid which HTA can provide is limited, however simple first aid items and materials to aid pregnant mothers have been gratefully received. Items including toys, curtains, bed linen etc have been donated and we shall continue to identify any other items which HTA can provide of use to these establishments.
