In 2010, we will continue with our ‘No Excuse’ approach towards contributing to voluntary activities with an understanding that volunteering is not relegated to selected contributors.
Let us use what we have, until we get what we need to make a difference.
With great volunteers and great results, there are no limits to what we can achieve with each other’s support.
Thank you

Kotu Quarry Village Head Teacher: Mr Timothy Sambou wrote to Hearts to Africa. The Jola community from Cassamance southern Senegal war torn Zone all are refugees residing at Kotu Quarry. Due to some natural disaster, we contain during the rainy season, it was bad we never contain water like that before and all the three classrooms were washed away in two days with the continuous rain in August 2009. The roof and wall fell on the furniture; we lost all our educational material so the school was closed. We rented a room to use as a school but could only teach 30 students, the other students would turn up crying carrying their school bag saying they want to go to school. On the 1st January 2010, we have rebuilt and renamed our new school too “Sam’s Hearts to Africa Nursery School” and "Hearts to Africa’s logo is our new school logo". On behave of the management, students of HTA School, board members of Sam’s Hearts to Africa Nursery School and Kotu Quarry, we would like to thank you all for your kind gestures and understanding for the stationery you gave to the school through our Coordinator:- Mr Famara Badjan. 100 students received educational material, plus gifts for the teachers.
